New York-based grocery chain Western Beef Supermarket said Thursday it plans to open more South Florida stores in areas where Winn-Dixie stores are closing.
“While we are still new to the South Florida market we are confident that we will continue to grow in this region and we look forward to securing several locations soon,” Western Beef Florida President Peter Castellana III said, in a statement.
A Pembroke Pines store will be opening next, he said.
Western Beef’s first Florida store opened in
almost two year ago, and also serves customers in
, Deerfield Beach and
.
The grocery chain operates 27 warehouse style supermarkets in New York, New Jersey and Florida.
