George Snow Scholarship Fund applications open until Feb. 1

After raising a record $1.58 million for 161 scholarship winners last year, the George Snow Scholarship Fund is hoping to carry over its success in 2021 despite the challenges presented by COVID-19.

The fund, which is designed to help individuals in financial need through a scholarship program, will continue to accept applications until 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, offering four-year scholarships to eligible high school seniors in Palm Beach County and select Broward County schools (Blanche Ely, Pompano Beach and Stoneman Douglas).

Homeschooled students living in Palm Beach County or those who would be attending high school at the select Broward County schools are also eligible to apply.

With numerous schools unable to host application workshops this year, the scholarship fund had video conference calls with each of the high schools the organization serves.

Offering a variety of scholarships — each with its own requirements for eligibility — the George Snow Scholarship Foundation has awarded over $13 million in scholarships since 1981.
