Margate
Festivities begin early with a 10 a.m. “Coming to America” theme parade startsing at 10 a.m. at Northwest 76th Avenue and east on Margate Boulevard to City Hall. At 5 p.m., a free children’s carnival featuring live music by the Murphy Law String Band, a water slide, rock climbing wall and more will take place at Margate Sports Complex, 1755 Banks Road. Tamarac
Things get off to a bang with a Live concert and fireworks display starting at 6 6:30 p.m. at the Tamarac Sports Complex, 7501 N. University Drive. The Event will last until 9:30 p.m. Call 954-724-2445.
Coral Springs
An Independence Day celebration will last from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sportsplex, 2575 Sportsplex Drive. Activities will include bounce houses, live entertainment, food and fireworks. Parkland
Children’s bicycle parade from 9 to 11 a.m. begins at Terramar Park, at the intersection of Hillsboro Boulevard and Northwest 76th Drive.
Plantation
Parade begins at 9 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 7 and Broward Boulevard and travels east through the Old Plantation area. Rides and family activities at the children’s carnival at 5:30 p.m. at Central Park Ball Fields, 600 Central Park Drive, between Broward and Cleary boulevards. Concert featuring variety show band Paris with Valerie Z begins at 7:30 p.m.; fireworks will follow at 9 p.m. Call 954-452-2519.
Other Fourth of July festivities
Fort Lauderdale — Sand sculpting contest 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on south end of beach. Beach concert at 6 p.m. and fireworks offshore at Las Olas Boulevard at 9 p.m. Free. Festival Unity Carnival at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, 1201 NW 55th St. starting at 2:30 p.m. Tickets $25.
Pompano Beach — 9 p.m. fireworks offshore at Atlantic Boulevard
Deerfield Beach — Beach festival from 1 to 9 p.m., featuring a concert at 8 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m.
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea — Offshore fireworks at 9 p.m. at Commercial Boulevard
